At the 60th National Convention held in Atlantic City, NJ, Chapter 116 was honored with the prestigious Philip D. O'Rourke Memorial Award. This national recognition is bestowed upon chapters that demonstrate unwavering dedication and advocacy on behalf of their members.
In accepting the award, Chapter President Santiago Valdez reflected on the journey that led to this moment:
"This award is for all those who believed in us during our campaign and entrusted us to lead this chapter into a new era. Your support fuels our mission. We’ll continue to fight—as long as you do."
The award stands as a testament to the chapter’s commitment, resilience, and the collective strength of its members.
Additionally, we were recognized for bringing membership to above 70%! With your help we will continue to push that number and attain the goal of 100%.
